Greek mythology attributes the queen Cassiopeia with stunning physical beauty as well as incredible self-possession and vanity, two characteristics that would eventually lead to her demise. Because of her boastfulness and pride, Cassiopeia angered Poseidon, and he inevitably punished her by tying her to a chair and placing her in the night sky for all to see as a form of torture.

Contemporarily, we know Cassiopeia as a constellation that lies in the Milky Way and that is visible in the northern skies.

On 21 January 2015, Cassiopeia -- based loosely on our solar system and the Milky Way -- joins my catalog of hazy cloud rap instrumentals as a five-track, twenty-one minute extended play. Each track on the EP takes its title from some astral object that is visible in our solar system: the dwarf planets Eris and Ceres make an appearance; Pluto's moon Charon surfaces midway through; the treacherous and alien Kuiper Belt looms in the distance; and finally, we arrive at Cassiopeia, beautiful and shimmering.
